Meditation and Sound Therapy

Brain wave frequency can reflect a person’s psychological state, and different brain wave types correspond to different levels of consciousness.

Generally speaking, the higher the brain wave frequency, the more awake and active the consciousness; the lower the brain wave frequency, the more relaxed and deep the consciousness.

– Meditation is the practice of calming thoughts and emotions by focusing on your breath, body sensations, or other objects. The purpose of meditation is to bring people into a state of calm mind, self-awareness and inner harmony.

When meditating, brain wave frequency changes with the depth and type of meditation. Generally speaking, the following brain waves will appear during meditation:

– Alpha waves (8-14 Hz): This is a type of brain wave associated with relaxation, eye closure, and creativity. Alpha waves can help reduce stress, anxiety and depression, enhance memory and learning abilities, and promote brain coordination and balance.

– Theta waves (4-8 Hz): This is a type of brain wave associated with dreams, sleep, subconsciousness and intuition. Theta waves can help improve creativity, inspiration and insight, promote emotional release and self-healing, and enhance the function of the immune system and endocrine system.

– Gamma waves (25-100 Hz): This is a type of brain wave associated with concentration, awareness and cognition. Gamma waves can help improve attention, memory and intelligence, enhance the integration and cooperation of various parts of the brain, and improve emotional stability and social skills.

– Different types of meditation produce different proportions of brain waves. For example, focused meditation (such as anapana) will increase the proportion of gamma waves, while relaxation meditation (such as body scanning) will increase the proportion of alpha waves.

TULA wellness has added sound healing to the entire meditation practice.

We use the stable and focused 432 Hz audio of Tibetan singing bowls to help focus the mind on the awareness of breathing; coupled with the long, angelic and soft frequencies of the chakra crystal bowl, It helps to modulate the frequency of brain waves into alpha waves, coordinate the left and right brains, and relax and ground the whole body.
